Time Left Until Race
The K2O race spans across the Rideau canal starting from the Cataraqui Canoe Club in Kingston Ontario and ending at Corktown Bridge by Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The race course comprises different water sections including river, lake and cut canal. Starting on the Cataraqui river, paddlers will make their way to the Kingston Mills Lock Station then continuing on the river which is broken up by small lakes and additional lock stations. The river then gives way to a series of large lakes that include Newboro and the Big Rideau. Approaching Smiths Falls the canal narrows again and remains relatively narrow for the remainder of the race. The river then makes its way through the quiet countryside going by the occasional small town. Approaching Manotick the canal gets more populated as Ottawa looms. The last section of the race goes through Ottawa including the last 10km which are through a cut section of the canal in an urban setting. Canada’s Parliament comes into view marking the final push to the finish at Corktown Bridge.
